How long are we the Public going to tolerate the Unnecessary Brutality of Our Police Force?
This incident happened to my Disabled Son on Saturday the 26th August 2006.
I'm 58 years old and I am totally disgusted with the attitude the officers of this day and age hold! They may well teach our Police Officers the Law ~ how to defend themselves ~ but they do not teach them Diplomacy or Observation Skills!
The Police Force today is a very highly paid job and that is the reason the majority are doing it. It is not because they care for our well being! It is not to uphold the Laws of the Country! 'Being in Charge' is the Buzz most of them want!
Wouldn't it be a Nice World if people we employ really cared for our well being and didn't judge us on appearances as my son was judged!
This Country is fast becoming a POLICE STATE! This is No Longer a Free Country! We are Dominated and ruled by Government and Police Force that really care little for us. We are numbers not Individuals.
HOW LONG ARE WE GOING TO TAKE THIS FOR?
Below is part of a letter I have written to a Political Party I support.
Dear Sir,
Police Brutality in the UK is rising fast.
On Saturday an interfering and noisy neighbor called police to my house. My severely disabled son Robert answered the door. When threatened Robert will swear. He said 'Fuck Off' - went to close the door. The Officer put his foot in the door, threw it open, threw my son to the ground and sprayed CS Gas in his face which drifted into the living room into the faces of my 15 month old grandson Jack and nine year old granddaughter Jade.
They then took Robert to Guildford Police Station and refused him a Phone call!
My Son was hit by a car in December 20th 1996. He suffered severe brain damage. He was in hospital for five months in a vegetable state. He then spent a year in a children's rehab hospital at Tadworth Surrey. My Son should be a vegetable but is a miracle through his strength and determination.
Robert can't walk independently - he walks with a stick holding onto me or a walking frame. He has slow speech and takes a little longer to think and talk than we do. He had a small bleed in his head at the accident and a stroke down his left side. His tremor is more severe on his left side and originally he was left handed but has to now write with his right hand. He has resp track damage from the life support machine. He has nocturnal epilepsy and sever insomnia.
A lady opposite said she was appalled at how they treated Robert she said they had him trussed up in a deckchair type seat and all she could see was his legs trembling. I was out with my seven year old grandson Calum. My 9 year granddaughter witnessed this. My husband Michael is a stroke victim - they left him on his own and took the two grandchildren to the woman who had made the complaint who is NOT allowed anywhere near my grandchildren without my daughter or myself being present. They should have taken the Children with them and informed Social Services but once they had arrested my son they were not interested in anything else!
I have made a complaint to Surrey Police Headquarters stating Police Brutality but am waiting for them to push it under the carpet.
How could anyone do that to someone like my son? This is fast becoming a Police State - the fascist tactics they are using. With respority problems like my son I have been told it could have been fatal. Robert said he couldn't breath and an officer had to go up to his bedroom to get his inhaler and all they said was of course you can breath!
I took these Photographs of my traumatized Son and Grandchildren about 9pm that evening. My Grandson was ill from Saturday to Wednesday as result of the CS Gas he inhaled. I called for Doctors assistance twice on the Sunday and on the Wednesday our own Doctor called. He also saw Robert and witnessed the brusing nor appearing on my Son's wrists. The Photographs below were taken at the same time as the others about 5-6 hours after the incident. How tight those cuffs must have been!!
I hope all concerned are very proud of themselves and can sleep at nights! This should never be allowed to happen again to anyone especially not Children or Disabled!

Well what has been happening here!!
6 Months on and it is still being investigate! The Officer who attacked my son PC Jones was due to be interviewed THIS month! It has taken from August Bank Holiday to this date for this to happen!
The CPS has dropped any action they were taking against my son because we refused to pay the fine. I did not mention the fine but here is how it occurred!
When they arrested my Son they gave him the option of Court Appearance or on the spot fine. My Son wanted to go for a court appearance but I insisted he take the fine option because I wanted to get him home on safe ground asp! I was concerned for his safety at Guildford Police Station and had informed them that a fit was eminent because of the stress he had been caused and that they would have to have him admitted to the Royal Surrey Hospital if they wanted to detain him! So that was the reason I insisted on the fine option to get him out of that building asp!
The fact that the CPS has dropped any charges is in my mind an admission of guilt of unscrupulous behaviour from a Police Officer against a severely disabled young man and my son will be going for compensation when this matter is over.
Update January 6th 2008
This Investigation by a Senior Police Officer lasted a year. The outcome was no surprise to me. The Investigating Officer led us to believe all along that he thought the Police Officers were in the wrong but in the end he had no option but to find in their favour. I believe they did get 'told off' in a very minor degree! And guess what? The Investigating Officer went onto a higher position after the investigation!!!!
Obviously, I made an appeal to the Independent Police Complaints ~ well I guess they are as independent to the Police as the Prime Minister is to the Party he Leads!!
I gave them tons of photographic evidence that contradicted a lot of the two Police Officer's Statement also information from the neighbour who called the Police stating that she heard them on a number of occasions gassing Robert (the Police Officer stated he did it once!) and Guess what? The appeal failed.
I haven't as yet told Robert. How can you tell a severely disabled young man who has never been in trouble with the Police in all his life that they got away with the BRUTALITY that they did to him!
Just another example of The Police State we live in!!
